After yesterday's demonstration got a bit out of hand, we thought we'd take advantage of the fine weather and combine some ancient Greek Mythology and Physical Re-education. The children have been learning about the punishments meted out by the Greek Gods on the puny mortals who dared stand against Olympus and what we might take from them in a modern day context. Here they are investigating how Sisyphus would have felt after he was condemned to endlessly push a boulder up one of the mountains deep inside Tartarus, only to see it roll down to the bottom each time he neared the top. We'll be noting down our results carefully and seeing if we can find out how long it takes to break the human spirit.
